Question for parents… Are your kids really ungrateful??

How many times do we hear, “these kids today are so ungrateful”

When your kids came to you for appraisal on little things that they felt like made them good kids (going to school, getting good grades, etc) you responded with “That’s what you supposed to do”

But when they have something to say about your parenting, the first thing you say is “I put clothes on your back, food in your stomach, and a roof over your head.” As a good parent, ain’t that what you supposed to do????

And you can say, “you don’t know the struggles I went through to have to do that for you.”

But your kids have their own personal struggles as well, so if you ignore theirs, do you not see how they would also ignore yours??

Then comes the saying “you’re just so ungrateful.”

Your good kids could’ve been bad kids, they could’ve made your life hell but they didn’t. They are ungrateful because YOU ARE.

And for the ones who were considered bad kids, if they aren’t acknowledged for the good things they do, what’s the point of doing them??

Your kids are a reflection of you, of your actions and your behaviors. If you are disappointed with their behaviors, you need to look at yours first.

But don’t beat me up. I’m just trying to break generational curses.
